Fancy lunch in Santiago and Auckland at the same time! We flew out of Auckland on the 19th February at 17:00 and arrived at Santiago in time for lunch the same day and that was even after an eleven-hour flight. In comparison Santiago wins on the food steaks and we don’t just mean plates full of meat. El Centro is packed with cafes, restaurants and food stalls to match any appetite or pocket, even our pockets, that after Auckland felt a tad bit stretched. Our hotel the Residencial Londres is smack dab in the middle of town. A stately location that can only be described as capital Europe for the architecture seamlessly combines the best of Paris, Rome, London and Madrid in to one familiar setting. In fact on the day of arrival we steeped straight into a fashion shoot and the next morning woke to find we were on a film set. Needless to say we stealthily slipped down the tree lined cobbled streets into the nearest café trying to dodge the director’s shrieks - sort of got the feeling he was talking about our heads, ‘cut’. We’re here for five days acclimatising and testing out our 250 Spanish words before heading off to Buenos Aires. First impressions from Santiago – busy, bustling, bouncy, beautiful, bella, bella – chau bella.. [« Prev] [Next »]
