In true Arthurian style three fearless adventurers, Graham of Sherborne, Garry of Naturalife and the infamous mistral, Julian Dawson fulfilled a noble quest that united the ancient sites of Camelot. A walk that involved 165 miles and took them from Cadbury Castle, Somerset to Tintagel Castle, Cornwall during the 6th and 13th of March 2004 During their journey they competed against the elements, contours and sometimes-hostile countryside. For eight days they meandered down leafy lanes, followed old drover's paths, struggled across bogy moorland and forded streams. They also strolled pleasantly by rivers through hamlets, villages and the picturesque county towns of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. The successful completion of the walk was celebrated at the Trewarmett Inn near Tintagel where Julian performed a live gig in order to raise further funds. Julian himself underwent successful surgery for breast cancer two years ago. Often in the case of men it's discovered far to late for successful treatment. By doing the walk it was hoped more people will become aware that breast cancer can affect both men and woman and in all cases early diagnosis is a paramount lifesaver. In Total the Guys have raised around £2600 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Yeovil Cancer Unit and were very proud to present the final cheque to Christine Piper of the Somerset Breakthrough Group.
